| Blaze |

|
Ever had a bath in magma? Keep annoying me and you will. Game appearances:
Blaze was the red dragon who was killed by the black dragon in his insanity. She was never named in the fanfic, but that was her. Basically, Blaze was the bitch of the dragon tribe. Humans annoyed her when she had to deal with them, although she wouldn't harm them. She WOULD fry someone who got on her nerves, though. Blake (before he went insane) had to spend time regrowing fur after a few visits with her. Blaze didn't allow anyone close to her. In fact, she called the other dragons names like "Blackie" and "Whitey" instead of their real names. Blaze was also Nall's mother through Quark. In the SSS universe, the red dragon is still alive. She is captured by Ghaleon and used as a battery for the Grindery. |
| Ruby |
|---|
|
I couldn't care less what Nall thinks! I was just, uh... wondering. Game appearances:
Ruby took over the job of "flying cat" in the party of Lunar: Eternal Blue. Although she was as sarcastic and insulting as Nall, she didn't need to be provoked in advance most of the time and would occasionally fry someone for a comment. How she and Hiro ended up together was never explained, but the two were close friends, and she even had a crush on him. She claimed to be the red dragon, but no one, not really even Hiro, believed her. The two would explore old ruins together, which seemed to get them into trouble frequently. Eventually, they got involved with a strange girl: Lucia, from the Blue Star. Through her, they were caught up in the battle against Zophar and a quest to save Lunar itself. Along the way, Ruby proved that she was the red dragon and claimed her power. Later on, she and the other three dragons of Althena destroyed Pentagulia with their power. Ruby seemed to have a thing for Nall, but there was no way she'd admit it. She was last seen seeing Hiro off to the Blue Star in his quest to find Lucia, but she has appeared in numerous fanfics about the events afterward. |
| Geint |

I kinda want something that looks cute... but that I can fight in! IRC RPG appearances:
Geint! She's cute! She's pink! And a description of her just wouldn't be right without her giving it! Hi! I'm Geint, the red dragon of Magic Empire, Rune's RPG! And I've been wit this group for almost two years now... That's out of character. It's amazing how so much time can pass... and how so much can stay the same. I mean, so many of the people I've been travelling with seem just like the day I met them! But there are still all of those subtle changes... and not so subtle. Heck, Kadan doesn't want to eat me anymore! ...I hope. And I think that just says it all, personally. |
| Garnet |
|---|
Fanfic appearances:
Little is known about this son of Ruby, only that a millennium before Summons taken place, he gives up his dragonhood to marry a human woman. In doing so, he sires what becomes the Segazzi race of humans and dragons who can bond together. |
| Jeal |
|---|
|
Powers of Althena, hearken to my call! Honor the ties that bound the Segazzi and the Dragon Tribe as one and the same. I am of their blood and your lifelong servant. Restore to me my ancestral form so that I may defend your creation! Game appearances:
Not a true dragon, Jeal is one of Garnet's descendants. Since the loss of Garnet left the dragons of Althena without a red dragon, magic was instilled in the red dragon's crest so that any of Garnet's descendants could harness it and become the red dragon of Althena in times of need. During the time of Summons, Jeal is that Segazzi, and he assumes his red dragon form twice in the story. |
| Rose |
|---|
|
I was flying free, only to be shot out of the sky. Rose's tale is a dramatic and sad one, a tale that is an echo of who she is... Rose was known to have met a young elf girl by the name of Elisa, who was lost in the red dragon cave and brutally attacked by monsters, unable to get out or properly defend herself from their attacks. Rose took pity on her and spirited her out of the cave. Elisa was amazed to meet a dragon and asked Rose many questions she had never been asked. Rose and Elisa became fast friends and shared many interests. Elisa had a beautiful singing voice, as did Rose (although she was quite the soprano), who always managed to capture such emotions in the songs she wrote. One day, Elisa suggested that perhaps Rose should share these beautiful writings with the world, but Rose knew that no one would listen to some little dragon sing and expect much more than a side-show. So she agreed to write songs for Elisa but not to sing them. So Elisa became quite famous, and many adored her songs. Rose always came to watch her from backstage, and she enjoyed seeing all of the people admire Elisa's voice combined with her words. One of her favorite such people was Gus, who was a big fan of Elisa and always attempted to win Elisa's affections, as he felt that the words she sang were the most beautiful works of poetry he had ever heard. Elisa had no interest in him, though he felt that she must since he agreed with so many of the words he thought she had written. Rose loved this man, and whether she knew it or not, it showed in her writing. Because of this, Gus thought that Elisa had secret feelings for him and chased her even more. In time, Elisa, being the wise girl she was, discovered the true nature of the situation. She could not stand the love of this man for whom she had no interest, nor could she stand the increasing detachment of her friend. So Elisa made a quick decision to take Gus to see who it was who had written the songs. Elisa guided Gus through the caves, which she could now handle without a scrap of trouble even without Gus. When she showed Gus to Rose, Rose was shocked and wondered what could possess Elisa to do such a thing... but Gus was also a very dramatic, poetic person like Rose, and he claimed that he did not care what she was, so long as she was the goddess who had written those words. Rose was overjoyed for what seemed like the first time in her lonely life, but after he left the cave to pack his things so that he could live with her in the red dragon cave, he was killed when his house burned down. Rose was, of course, terribly dejected and, being as emotional as she was, desperately wanted to hurt the world... and herself. She desperately wanted to join him in death, but she stuck to her duties and stayed upon Lunar for as long as the goddess Althena required. |
| Relm |
|---|
|
Damn you! Can't you tell the difference between a baby dragon and a cat, you stupid human!? Fanfic appearances:
Relm is a descendant of the great dragon Ruby, and she is similar to her ancestor in color and attitude. She is also very proud to have Ruby as an ancestor. At a rather young age, she was chosen by the dragonmaster Aka-kaze. The two were a great team, and becuase of Relm's temper, the two were often referred to as the next Hiro and Ruby. Sadly, many years later, an entire kingdom was destroyed by what survivors say was a red dragon who also killed the dragonmaster Aka-kaze mercilessly. No one saw Relm anywhere, so they assumed that she was responsible for his death and the destruction of that kingdom. A few weeks later, more towns and villages were destroyed or terrorized by what they said was the same dragon. The people demanded that something be done, and they prayed to the goddess Althena to protect them. No one would believe the baby dragon when she said that she had not committed those terrible acts. The goddess was forced to banish her from Lunar. Ultimately, she ended up in the Slayers world, where she met her new partner Vandal. The fact that she was banished and blamed for her dragonmaster's and others' deaths often makes her delusional. She'll either go a tad insane or mistake Vandal for Aka-kaze, but despite all this, she still has quite a temper and scorches the faces of her friends, whom she'll sometimes refer to as "stupid humans", for calling her a cat. She'll even do this to other people as well, which can attract some attention (and trouble). |
| Akarui |
|---|
|
*sigh* Take a look at this silky fur, these beautiful ribbons, this slender extra petite body. I know I'm cute. A very, very, vain dragon who keeps up with all the newest fashion tips and items. Because of this, she can seem snotty, arrogant, and lightheaded, but deep down, she is a very nice dragon. Her fighting skills are next to nil, and she dosen't want to grow up. She also loves to try on dresses and fancy ribbons, and she prefers to have a female companion because they know more about fashion than your average male. |
| Atsui |
|---|
|
Will I be as great as all my other kin? Atsui is a very, very, very young baby dragon! He just hatched out of his egg about a year ago, and his cuteness has not worn off. Perfect for all the people that just need to have cute things. He looks a little strange for a red dragon, but give him time to grow. He could become quite powerful. |
| Seishin-Chi |
|---|
|
We were created to protect the goddess. For that, we must obey our dragonmasters without question. A very very proud and loyal dragon who puts loyalty and honor above everything else. Thus, his loyalty to his dragonmaster is uncanny. He believes that a dragon should follow his dragonmaster without question to repay the goddess Althena for their creation. He's quite strong, but he won't act unless commanded to do so, which can lead to problems if the dragonmaster is not available. |
