This world has done nothing but take from me my whole life! It's time I take back! Farewell... forever. Game appearances (unofficial):
Blake (whose true name was Onyx) was the dragon who went insane and was killed by Dyne and Ghaleon, setting off the events which happened in TSS. However, he's more than "the dragon who went crazy". Over 1000 years before Dyne, Blake became a dragonmaster to stop a wizard with plans for world domination. Few people knew that a dragonmaster ever existed at that time, even less knew that the dragonmaster was also the black dragon. During this time as a human, he adopted the name "Blake" to help keep his identity a secret. He managed to defeated the wizard who threatened Lunar with the help of a girl named Sara. He also fell in love with her, but unfortunately, when he revealed that he was a dragon, she left him. Later, while exploring as a human, he met another woman named Anna. The two travelled together for a while before falling in love. Anna did not care that he was a dragon, and the two were happy for a while. However, Anna was infected with the plague while the two were exploring the Pao cave. Blake travelled all over, unable to find a cure for her. Finally, he took her to Althena's tower and begged the goddess for help. The goddess did not appear, and Anna died in his arms. Overcome by rage and grief, Blake lost his mind and blamed Althena for her death. He went on a rampage, destroying whatever caught his fancy. The blue and red dragons tried to stop him and were killed. Eventually, Blake was slain by Dyne and Ghaleon. His spirit was called back for a short while by Ghaleon to try and kill Alex. He was defeated by Alex and his friends and was finally laid to rest. |

You scare me sometimes, Points. In fact, you freak me out when you aren't scaring me. You know how weird you are? Game appearances (unofficial):
Ebony started out simply as a circus sideshow about 10 years after Alex defeated Ghaleon. He didn't remember anything of his life before that. Managing to escape during a fire, he passed out in a cave in the Frontier and was found by a beast woman. In Marke, he met the rest of the Middleground characters: Lou, Miko, Bulix, Iceberg, Isis, Eomar, Thesian, and Davis. They got in a long and complicated story to stop Ordak from destroying the world. During this time, Ebony fell in love with the blue dragon, Azura. Upon her death, he was driven briefly insane. To help save the world, Ebony became the first dragon of his generation to claim his power. He and his friends eventually saved the world and he settled down in Esperia with Miko. Events after this include a stint as a dragon fiend (Zophar's Last Slave) and falling in love with Azura's replacement, Jia. Ebony was the black dragon in Eternal Blue and helped destroy Pentagulia. The Unification/ASF universe differs in some aspects. Azura died after EB, but Ebony was still left alone. In ASF, he helped another group of heros to save both Lunar and the Blue Star from Pharos and Nephar, Zophar's brother, although he wasn't as involved as he was in MG. |

It is said that the black dragons of Lunar have been the most sensitive, most fragile of mind of the Dragon Tribe. But that sensitivity does not come without reward, for we are more attuned to the ways of nature and the magic of the world. Fanfic appearances:
Onyx is the black dragon during the time of Summons and is very young and idealistic. Though he often means well, his unrealistic view of the order of things sometimes blinds him to the importance of what really must be done. He also has a case of hero worship of Ghaleon. Onyx is the son of Ebony. |

Rein... if you knew what I went through when I was trapped in House Flysse... all the pain, all the hatred... you'd know why Shade and Pria are now one. IRC RPG appearances:The black dragon of the days of the Magic Empire is extremely duty-bound and may even be seen as arrogant in her regards to mortal evils. Though she is in the middle of her second millennium of life, she is the second oldest. Just before the campaign to end the Magic Empire (see Lunar IRC RPG V: Magic Empire), she was captured by warlock nobles who wished to harness the power of the black dragon aura. Their plan was to merge the aura with humans in order to create the ultimate footsoldier. However, their plans failed, and in the final test, the degree of merging was so extreme that both the body and the soul of Shade was joined with that of the human woman Pria, leaving only a new being called Shea in their place. Shea has the memories of both Shade and Pria and a personality that is a mixture of both. She appears as a red-haired human woman with black furred wings. No more can be revealed that this time since the RPG has not finished. |
| Opal |

...I suppose... Known for her bored nature and quiet, studious personality, Opal is always a black dragon to keep her cool. Rumor has it in the past she was known for not acting in such a manner, but nowadays she merely does as she is told and is rather good friends with Teal, the current tetrarch. Other than that, little is known about her. She generally seems to be apathetic, but deep down she is as emotional as any of the black dragons before her. |
| Kuro |
|---|
|
What would be the fun in you knowing that? You're still alive, and that's all that matters! Right? A very, very secretive dragon. Unlike most of the black dragons, he doesn't seem to get depressed at all. Everything he does, says, or knows is kept a secret and told only to his master. Unless his master wishes him to, he will never tell anyone his secrets, which is easily annoying to other people and dragons. He always wears a passive smile, but when he opens his eyes, they look like they belong more to a demon than to a dragon. He likes to make sarcastic and sometimes very rude remarks to others, especially the white dragon Shiro. For unknown reasons, they really don't get along, and it would not be the best idea to adopt them both. Shiro is responsible for the scar over Kuro's right eye, though when Kuro grows up, he will probably be more powerful than Shiro. |
| Kanashimi |

To know me... is to welcome sadness. To know me... is to welcome insanity. To know me is to welcome... death... Poor Kanashimi. No one has ever seen him smile. His mother died right after he was born, and sad events have followed him through out his life. The other dragons named him Kanashimi, which means "sadness", and so far he's lived up to his name. He rarely talks, and when it is it's always something depressing, like It feels cold here or Death has been calling my name since I was born... His left wing is also in bad conditon, and he needs a very kind, sensitive person to make him see the joy of living. If he were ever to cheer up, all that depression and sadness could be turned around to make a mighty black dragon. |
| Kichigai |

|
Hehehe... Mother... heh... Don't worry, mother... they can't keep us here... heh... heh... Don't worry, mother... I'm going to get them for you... Mother... A wise black dragon once said that Sadness's brother follows the footsteps of insanity. He was referring to the elder brother of Kanashimi, Kichigai. Kichigai was once thought of as a black dragon with incredible potental... but while the death of his mother brought saddness to him and his brother, later events brought on insanity. The other dragons, fearing that he would go on a rampage, locked him up and separated him from the world of light. He is a schizophrenic and has the strength of a mad dragon. The only relief that seems to calm this savage beast is the soothing sound of his mother's call. |

ZzzZZzzzz... I'm here to bless you... or to kill you... ZzzZZzzzz... This dragon has been sleeping since birth and seems to have a profound effect on dreams. If her owner is good, he receives wonderful, joyful dreams. However, if her owner is bad, her power will devour his dreams, which will eventually leave her owner dreamless and a "vegetable", unable to move or communicate with the outside world. Though her only strength lies in dreams, she does wake up at times, and her voice is like that of chiming bells, and her eyes are a rich light blue. |
